Videos and DVDs
Bernard Haitink conducts this Benjamin Britten opera at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera in 1985. Albert Herring (John Graham-Hall) is repressed by his domineering mother and ridiculed by his peers. When local dignitary Lady Billows (Patricia Johnson) cannot find a suitable May Queen, Albert is chosen instead as May King. Unfortunately, on the big day, Albert's friend Sid (Alan Opie) laces his drink with rum and, after a drunken speech, Albert runs away to seek adventure.
