Born in Lerwick in 1946, the author grew up in Lerwick and this is his light-hearted, sometimes sentimental but refreshing illustrated tour of life in early post war Shetland where everything is simultaneously familiar but very different. The author spent his working life around Edinburgh, an active participant in the Edinburgh and District Shetland Association and has retired to Shetland.
