Jen Napier (nee Ward) was born in 1950 and grew up in Hamnavoe, Burra. A large part of her childhood holidays were spent at Ireland in Bigton, where her mother hailed from. Those days were some of the happiest of her life and this book is based on these memories, along with those of her early years in Burra. As well as her recollections she drew on her artistic talents for the production of the book.
