A novel based on real events in the author's family history which are related in the first chapter. In 1869 Robbie Anderson was exiled from the island of Whalsay by the Laird, Robert Bruce of Symbister. On this departure he swears to return and murder the Laird and his family. He is never seen or heard of again. A century later, his great-grandson goes missing around the time the Laird's last descendant is murdered in Canada. The missing man's brother goes in search of him. Has Robbie Anderson's curse come home to roost?
