At the ripe old age of 26 years, I came to Shetland for a short holiday and found my dream! The hills, the seas, the animals roaming freely and of course, the Shetland 'folk'. I really wanted to live here and they opened the door, invited me in and gave me a seat at the fireside. I accepted gratefully and now, nearly 45 years later, would never consider living anywhere else! Above all, Shetland has opened my eyes to the wonderous beauty surrounding us all and so I yearned to share this with others - this book being my humble attempt!
