This collection is a gathering together of poems, memories and conversations from sociable mornings and afternoons at the dementia hub in Kirkwall, Orkney. The sessions involved gentle prompting, and with much laughter, listening and discussion the threads of time were unwound, and the precious treasure of the moment honoured. The written pieces and transcribed stories and conversations give an insight into the experiences of those living with dementia, their carers, and the staff who support them. There is tenderness and energy in these alive and changing relationships, there is poignancy, satisfaction and hilarity. There is also a sense of journeying through time freely amid the frustrations of forgetfulness, and of the lasting individuality which flowers in the creative experience of mutual care and concern.
