Ben Kingsley stars as Mahatma Gandhi in this biographical drama directed by Richard Attenborough. As a young lawyer, Gandhi moves to South Africa and begins using nonviolent methods to campaign for civil rights. When he returns to India in 1915 he continues to use these methods to fight discrimination and campaign for India's independence from British rule until his assassination in 1948. The cast also includes Rohini Hattangadi, Roshan Seth and Alyque Padamsee.
